Accepting the terms

The tenant API carries protected health information, so API access starts with your organisation accepting the PHI and data-processing terms. No key can be issued until it has.

Who can accept

Anyone with the API keys permission, which admins hold by default. Open Settings, then API Keys, and accept the terms shown there. The first acceptance is the one on record: accepting again never changes who accepted or when.

What you see before then

  • Issuing a key is refused until the terms are accepted.
  • A call made with a key is refused with 403 and API access has not been enabled for this tenant if the tenant has no accepted terms on record.
  • A call is refused with 403 and API access is not enabled for this tenant if the API keys module is not part of your subscription.
